Position Description
Designs, develops, and modifies products by applying sound engineering principles.
Determines feasibility of designs by evaluating cost, time limitations, planning considerations, and other technical and economic factors.
Conducts engineering studies related to product design, associated subsystems, components, and structures.
Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design.
This position requires an understanding of engineering theories, principles, and their practical application.
Responsibilities
Develop knowledge of the mechanical components across assigned product lines Process orders and review customer applications to ensure products are properly specified Design products specific to customer applications and requirements Collaborate closely with sales, customer service, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and on-time delivery Create CAD drawings and models for customer orders, as well as detailed drawings for manufacturing and purchasing Provide engineering support to application engineers and product managers Requirements
Highly organized and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Basic knowledge of mechanical principles such as torque, tension, loading, and deflection Strong communication skills with the ability to work well in a team and interact with customers Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as CREO or SolidWorks Proficient in Microsoft Office Working knowledge of basic inspection equipment Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent technical degree 0-5 years of relevant engineering experience
