We are expanding our logistics team in San Antonio, Texas, and searching for a dedicated Material Handler. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in managing the flow of materials within our warehouse, ensuring efficient movement and organization. Your responsibilities will include receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, transporting materials to and from various departments using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and storing inventory in designated locations. You will also play a part in inventory control, assisting with cycle counts and maintaining accurate records. Safety is paramount in our operations, and all employees are required to strictly follow safety procedures and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests. This position requires the capability for significant physical exertion, including frequent and substantial Lifting. Experience operating heavy machinery is a significant advantage. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, verifying contents against shipping documents.
- Transport materials to designated areas within the warehouse.
- Receive and inspect incoming inventory for accuracy and quality.
- Store materials in appropriate locations, maintaining proper organization.
- Assist with regular inventory counts and record updates.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and wear necessary PPE.
- Report any safety concerns or equipment issues promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling machinery.
- Ability to handle frequent and heavy Lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in using PPE correctly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
