Our logistics hub in San Diego, California is seeking experienced Material Handlers to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. This role is vital for maintaining smooth operations, from receiving raw materials to dispatching finished goods. You will operate various types of equipment, manage inventory placement, and ensure a clean and organized work environment. A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence is paramount. Your physical capability and attention to detail will be key to success.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to move materials to designated locations.
- Store and organize inventory accurately within the warehouse.
- Transport materials between different departments and staging areas.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory verification.
- Identify and report any damaged goods, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse floor and work areas.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and achieve operational targets.
- Understand and apply principles of effective logistics and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler, forklift operator, or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the importance of PPE.
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 75 pounds frequently and performing strenuous physical labor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of inventory management systems is a plus.
