We have an immediate opening for a skilled Forklift Operator in Durham, North Carolina. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is integral to our logistics operations, ensuring the efficient flow of goods within our facility. You must have a strong commitment to safety, be highly detail-oriented, and possess excellent operating skills.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and placement of goods.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Store and retrieve inventory accurately, maintaining proper organization.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety best practices and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems is a plus.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
