Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and proper handling of all deliveries. Your efficiency in processing shipments is vital to our supply chain and logistics operations. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a smoothly running warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
  • Verify contents of shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies, and document any issues.
  • Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Tag and label incoming inventory as required.
  • Stage received goods for distribution to appropriate departments or storage locations.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, including dock doors and staging zones.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving activities.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as needed.
  • Follow established procedures for handling returns and damaged goods.
  • Ensure compliance with all logistics and receiving regulations.
  • Practice safe Lifting techniques when handling packages and pallets.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or logistics roles is highly desirable. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry. Experience with WMS software is a plus. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to wear required PPE. Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment.
