Advance your career in logistics as a Shipping Clerk in Columbus, Ohio. We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented individual to manage the efficient processing and dispatch of all outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for preparing documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that products leave our facility accurately and on schedule. This role is crucial to maintaining customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our logistics network. - Generate and verify shipping labels, bills of lading, and customs documentation as required.
- Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound freight pickups with various carriers.
- Confirm that outgoing orders match shipping orders and manifest details.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding shipment status.
- Update the shipping log and inventory system with tracking information.
- Conduct final quality checks on packages to prevent shipping errors.
- Ensure all packages are correctly labeled and secured for transit.
- Strictly follow all company Safety protocols and guidelines.
- Utilize required PPE when performing tasks, especially those involving potential hazards.
- Assist with occasional Lifting of packages up to 40 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with shipping software and general computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Understanding of logistics processes and warehouse operations.
- Commitment to maintaining a Safe work environment and adherence to all Safety rules.
- Willingness to wear and use provided PPE.
- Capability for light to moderate Lifting when necessary.
