In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently, ensuring that our customers receive their orders on time and in perfect condition. The Shipping Clerk plays a key part in the outbound flow of our warehouse, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments according to established procedures.
- Verify order accuracy, ensuring that the correct items and quantities are packed.
- Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure product safety during transit.
- Operate shipping software and equipment, including scales and label printers.
- Generate shipping labels and manifest documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and track outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, upholding safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any shipping-related issues promptly.
- Ensure all shipping activities comply with company policies, including proper PPE usage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to safety protocols and the correct use of PPE.
- Familiarity with general logistics operations is advantageous.
