We are seeking a diligent and experienced Material Handler to join our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Durham, North Carolina. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. This includes receiving, unloading, storing, and distributing various types of goods. You will operate material handling equipment, maintain inventory accuracy, and contribute to the overall smooth operation of our supply chain. This role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. You will be expected to adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Accurately record material movements and update inventory systems.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Pick and stage materials for outgoing shipments.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure operational safety and functionality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift or other relevant equipment certifications are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in operating various types of warehouse machinery.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 75 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Commitment to wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
