We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for our bustling Chicago, Illinois distribution center. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which is vital for smooth logistics operations. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counting, stock takes, and discrepancy resolution. Your expertise will help maintain optimal stock levels, minimize losses, and improve overall warehouse efficiency. A strong understanding of inventory systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving are key. We are committed to providing a safe working environment and mandate the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock accuracy.
- Investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Managing and maintaining inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implementing and improving inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and reduce waste.
- Monitoring stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to ensure product freshness and minimize obsolescence.
- Analyzing inventory data to identify trends and recommend adjustments to ordering or storage strategies.
- Coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure proper put-away and retrieval of goods.
- Performing quality checks on incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines related to warehouse operations and material handling.
- This role may involve occasional heavy Lifting, requiring the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
