Our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa is looking for a reliable Shipping & Receiving Associate to manage the flow of goods in and out of our facility. This critical role ensures that our warehouse operations run smoothly, from accepting deliveries to dispatching finished orders. You will be responsible for accurately processing inbound shipments, verifying contents against documentation, preparing outbound shipments with care, and maintaining organized dock areas. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment. We require strict adherence to safety guidelines and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all team members. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments for dispatch.
- Maintain organized and clutter-free shipping and receiving areas.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
- Track and document all incoming and outgoing inventory movements.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers and couriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Ensure all shipping and receiving procedures comply with company logistics standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock management as needed.
- Demonstrate safe lifting techniques and assist colleagues when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a shipping and receiving or warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and managing documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics setting.
- Physical capability to handle frequent lifting and moving of packages.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety best practices.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable and punctual work ethic.
