We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our logistics team in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, stocking inventory, and preparing goods for shipment. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining inventory integrity and ensuring smooth operational flow. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel and supervisors to coordinate material movement and uphold our high standards of productivity and safety. This position requires physical stamina, a strong understanding of logistics principles, and a commitment to following all safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE. Experience with various types of material handling equipment is essential. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Stock and organize materials according to established procedures.
- Assist with order picking and packing as needed.
- Conduct daily inspections of material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- Participate in inventory management activities, including cycle counts.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role operating forklifts and other equipment.
- Ability to perform tasks involving manual dexterity and moderate to heavy Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control principles.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to adhere to PPE requirements and safety protocols.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
