The role of a Border Patrol Agent is multifaceted and demanding.

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any field.


• Possession of U.S. citizenship, which includes having been a resident for at least three years prior to applying for the position.


• Having successfully completed one full year as an Apprentice Border Patrol Agent with satisfactory performance ratings or possessing relevant work experience that has provided knowledge equivalent to working as an Apprentice Border Patrol Agent.


• The ability to pass rigorous background investigations conducted by CBP's Office of Internal Affairs, including polygraph examinations and credit checks; undergo recurring psychological assessments throughout your career; obtain medical clearance according to established standards;
