The Enterprise Data Architect will play a critical role in shaping IDS' data strategy by ensuring data architecture aligns with business goals. This position involves leading efforts to establish robust data governance, data management practices, and operationalizing data frameworks across IDS organization as part of Allianz Group.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture framework, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and enterprise-wide information needs. Create and manage a comprehensive data architecture roadmap that supports the evolution of the data landscape, including data platforms, data flows, and analytics capabilities.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions across operational, analytical, and governance domains. This includes data integration, data warehousing, master data management, and data lake architectures.
  • Evaluate and recommend data-related technologies, platforms, and practices (e.g., cloud-native services, metadata management, data cataloging, and AI/ML enablement) to enhance data capabilities and ensure future-proof data architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders, data stewards, data scientists, analysts, and IT teams to understand data requirements and translate them into end-to-end architectural solutions that support data-driven decision-making.
  • Establish and enforce data architecture standards, policies, and best practices, including data modeling, data lineage, and data quality frameworks. Ensure all data solutions comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR) and IDS' and Allianz Group's data governance principles.
  • Provide architectural oversight and governance for data-intensive initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with the enterprise data strategy and architecture. Review and approve data architecture designs and proposed changes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture components, including data models, data flow diagrams, integration patterns, and metadata registries. Clearly communicate data architecture strategies and blueprints to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture roles.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise data architectures, including data lakes and/or data warehouses.
  • Background in financial services or investment management is highly desirable, especially with exposure to performance reporting, risk analysis, and regulatory data requirements

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), metadata management, and data governance frameworks.
    • Hands-on experience with data platforms and tools, such as Cloud platforms (e.g. Azure), Data services (e.g. Azure Synapse, MS Fabric), ETL/ELT tools (e.g. Informatica, Azure Data Factory), BI & Analytics:e.g.Power BI, Tableau, Qlik
  • Proficiency with data integration architectures and tools, including APIs, streaming (Kafka, Event Hub), and batch pipelines.
  • Familiarity with data security, privacy, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR)

Architecture & Methodology

  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
  • Experience with data architecture patterns, such as:
    • Data mesh / data fabric
    • Master data management (MDM)
    • Data cataloging and lineage
  • Familiarity with agile delivery models, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
