Reporting to the Category Manager, Ricki's, the Associate Buyer for Ricki's will play an integral role on our Merchandising Team.  The role of the Associate Buyer is to contribute to department goals and performance measure by ensuring on-time delivery of product, build to quality standards, while working with the Category Manager on the product development process.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Assists the Category Manager in developing programs to meet the department's strategic and financial goals
  • Supports product development from concept through production, ensuring timelines, cost targets, and quality standards are met
  • Works closely with Vendors, Design, and Quality Assurance to ensure all elements of design intent and quality standards are achieved
  • Partners with Sourcing on factory alignment, lead times, and cost negotiations
  • Provides complete and accurate Purchase Order information to the Merchandise Administrator for timely system entry
  • Works with cross-functional partners on timelines, delivery flow, and placement of incoming goods
  • Collaborates with Planning to support buy quantities, inventory flow, and financial targets
  • Partners with Marketing and E-commerce teams on product-related requirements, launches, and content needs
  • Supports in-season execution including reorders, cancellations, and markdown activity
  • Maintains accuracy of style, costing, and delivery information across systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of Windows applications, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with PLM and NAV systems is an asset
  • Experience within a private label product development environment preferred
  • Knowledge of merchandise trends, fabrications, garment construction, and quality standards
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to review sales results and fashion trends and contribute to well-rounded collections
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field preferred
  • Organized with good time management and prioritization skills
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the retail industry 
  • Toronto, Ontario, Canada
