What will you be doing
Executing complex technical work, including reporting, forecasting, analyzing results, interpreting data, and preparing recommendations.
Prioritizing deliverables and ensuring project and reporting deadlines are consistently met.
Recognizing critical issues, interpreting standards, and acting within established project controls parameters.
Establishing and maintaining schedule quality assurance standards across multiple project plans.
Managing project plans associated with multiple projects or programs and ensuring accuracy of scope, time, budget, and resource assumptions.
Leading or supporting development of integrated schedules and multi‑project planning efforts.
Performing schedule quality assurance reviews, maintaining baselines, updating progress, and ensuring alignment with PMO/industry standards.
Completing or overseeing Monte Carlo schedule/risk analyses and incorporating results into forecasts and mitigation recommendations.
Developing, integrating, and maintaining cost, schedule, and resource plans for accurate forecasting and performance tracking.
Conducting variance and trend analysis, identifying emerging risks, and recommending corrective actions.
Applying performance measurement practices such as the critical path and earned value methods to assess project status objectively.
Coordinating monthly reporting cycles, cross‑project reporting, and ensuring data quality and timeliness.
Producing executive‑level reports and presentations, translating technical information into clear insights for decision‑making.
Developing "what‑if" scenarios, recovery options, and remedial plans to support leadership decisions.
Assessing schedule and cost impacts for change requests and ensuring approved changes are reflected in updated plans and baselines.
Reviewing commercial contracts to identify schedule and cost implications and communicating risks or constraints to leadership.)
Supporting project audits, follow‑up actions, and providing triage support for troubled projects.
Acting as the project controls interface across multiple stakeholders, aligning inputs and resolving integration issues.
Facilitating planning, scheduling, and performance meetings, driving action tracking and alignment.
Building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to exchange complex information and support project outcomes.
Identifying, analyzing, and communicating cost and schedule risks and opportunities using established processes.
Supporting the development, tracking, and reporting of mitigations, contingency plans, and performance trends.
Ensuring risk assumptions, constraints, and responses are consistently reflected across project controls documentation.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What We Are Looking For
Education
University degree or college diploma in a relevant field (Project Management, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration).
PMP certification (required).
Experience
5–10 years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in project management or project delivery.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to set priorities, develop action plans, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication, presentation, instructional, and coaching skills.
Strong interpersonal and networking abilities, able to work effectively with teams at all levels.
A questioning attitude and the ability to challenge assumptions in a professional manner.
Effective problem‑solving skills with a results‑oriented approach.
Ability to motivate and guide others, fostering strong teamwork.
High level of self‑motivation, willingness to learn, and readiness to take on increasing responsibility.
Ability to prepare and manage project schedules and conduct effective scheduling meetings.
Ability to resolve personnel matters and maintain a collaborative team environment.
Advanced knowledge of project management principles, cost control, scheduling, WBS development, change management, and project management techniques.
Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6, and familiarity with procurement, financial processes, and project control software.
PMP certification (required).
Security Clearance Eligibility Required
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."
Working Conditions
Working schedule: We have a compressed work week: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week, starting at 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
