The Opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on Accounting & Operations Lead ready to take ownership of the full financial and administrative engine supporting our portfolio.
This role combines full-cycle accounting, payroll and HR administration, property operations oversight, and office management leadership. It's ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, and managing multiple moving parts within a stable, long-standing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping across all company entities
Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including rent collection reconciliation
Prepare:
Monthly financial statements
Bank reconciliations
Variance and internal reports
Coordinate with the external accountant for:
Tax filings
Year-end closings
Audit preparation
Monitor expenses, ensure compliance, and maintain audit-ready financial records
Payroll & HR Administration
Process monthly payroll for all employees, including property management staff
Administer employee benefits, source deductions, and government remittances (CNESST, etc.)
Maintain employee records including:
Vacation balances
Leave requests
Onboarding and offboarding documentation
Track mileage reports and employee expense reimbursements
Property Management
Oversee day-to-day operational management of assigned buildings
Respond to tenant requests and ensure timely issue resolution
Coordinate and supervise external vendors and contractors while ensuring compliance with service agreements
Conduct technical inspections of mechanical and electrical systems, including:
Boilers
Pumps
Air conditioning systems
Critical building equipment
Prepare:
Lease agreements
Rent increases
RL-31 documentation
Ensure building insurance policies remain active and paid
Office & Operations Management
Supervise daily office operations, supplier relationships, and service subscriptions
Coordinate team schedules, meetings, and internal communications
Act as primary contact for:
Insurance renewals
Corporate deposits
Acquisition support documentation
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or office/operations management
Experience processing payroll and managing Quebec source deductions
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or equivalent)
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Bilingual — French and English (spoken and written)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
Asset
Experience in real estate or property management environments
