Status 1.0 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent), temporary position 12 months (renewable)
Salary Range $30,27 to $53,64
In close collaboration with the pediatrician(s) and pediatric endocrinologist(s) from the Pediatric Unit at Shriners Hospital for Children Canada and under the direct supervision of the Assistant to the Chief of Staff - Clinico Administrative Components, the Planning, Programming, and Research Agent (PPRA) will be involved in two main areas 1) developing and implementing projects and actions aimed at improving the quality of care and excellence of practices offered within the service; 2) initiating and continuing research projects.
With regard to area 1) The successful candidate will lead high-impact projects that integrate evidence-based practices with innovative engagement strategies, ensuring measurable improvements in patient outcomes and visibility of the pediatric services of Shriners Hospitals. The PPRA oversees the design, execution, and evaluation of strategic initiatives aimed at improving clinical quality, enhancing patient and family centered care, and expanding educational outreach. The PPRA summarizes and communicates updates and provides information on the status of the various projects to the Assistant to the Chief of Staff - Clinico-Administrative component as well as to the medical staff involved.
With regard to area 2) The PPRA prepares and performs statistical analyses of data, reviews the required documentation, coordinates the stages of research projects within the scope of their responsibilities, and ensures that they comply with organizational policies, standards, laws, and applicable regulations. The PPRA leverages advanced expertise in pediatric research coordination, multi-center collaborations with internal and external partners, education, and digital communications. The PPRA assists pediatricians and pediatric endocrinologists in writing scientific manuscripts and grant applications, and conducts literature reviews.

Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex clinical projects related to metabolic and genetic bone disorders and quality improvement.
Initiate multi-site pediatric research initiatives within the Pediatric Service at Shriners Hospitals for Children, ensuring compliance with institutional standards.
Perform basic statistics to enable the analysis of clinical and research data.
Contributes to the preparation of grants, manuscripts, de curriculum vitae, abstracts, and conference presentations in collaboration with clinicians, employees and students.
Establishes performance indicators for quality improvement initiatives, monitors progress and presents concrete recommendations.
Designs and implements departmental education strategies, including patient information tools, digital learning resources, and professional development programs.
Leads the promotion of evidence-based pediatric programs and patient and family-centered initiatives.
Oversees transfer of knowledge projects to ensure research findings are communicated effectively to clinicians, patients, and the wider community.
Act as the primary liaison between the Pediatric team, hospital departments, academic partners, industry collaborators, and internal and external stakeholders.
Participates in the development of collaborative partnerships to advance projects in the Pediatric Service, research goals, and educational offerings.
Facilitates interdisciplinary working groups to ensure alignment across different phases of projects.
Conducts literature reviews, benchmarking studies, and best-practice analyses relevant to pediatric care.
Participates in developing requirements for data collection, interpretation, and reporting for both research and quality improvement projects.
Performs other tasks deemed relevant to the position.
Bachelor's degree in the field of health and social services. A master's or doctoral degree in health and social services or related fields is considered an asset, as is a master's degree in epidemiology and biostatistics.
Good understanding of the health and social services sector, its administration and legal framework.
Minimum 7 years of healthcare experience, including pediatric research coordination, clinical project management, and quality improvement. Minimum 3 years of experience in Clinical Research.
Proven track record in both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated research projects.
Demonstrated expertise in digital communications, including social media strategy and online educational platforms in a healthcare context is considered an asset.
Experience liaising with clinical and administrative leaders and managing complex multi-stakeholder projects.
Ability to perform basic statistical analyses
Fluency in French written and spoken; capacity to communicate in English is required in order to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients and/or stakeholders.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools, and research database navigation.
