Kind Creative is a web and marketing agency looking for a part-time WordPress Technical Support / WebOps Specialist to support ongoing operations across our WordPress client sites as well as internal ops.
We're looking for a technical operator who can handle the day-to-day "plumbing" of our web stack — keeping sites stable, updated, and running smoothly,
This will start as a part-time role with the potential to grow into a long-term, ongoing collaboration.
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll be working across multiple WordPress sites and handling a steady flow of small to mid-sized technical tasks, including:
- Managing WP Engine environments (staging production pushes, QA checks, cleanup)
- Running plugin updates and handling basic conflicts or rollback scenarios
- Supporting domains, DNS, SSL, and Cloudflare configurations
- Performing site backups, restores, and post-restore verification
- Troubleshooting form issues (email delivery, spam, integrations)
- Managing logins, user access, and credential cleanup
- Assisting with WordPress migrations (host changes, domain updates)
- Acting as a first responder for "site down" or urgent issues
- Making minor PHP, CSS, or JS edits when needed (no feature development)
- Conducting routine site audits and cleanup (plugins, users, staging environments)
How We Work:
- All work is managed through ClickUp tickets with clear scopes and definitions of done
- Communication happens primarily in Slack (async-first)
- We value speed, clarity, and reliability over over-engineering
- You'll be expected to ask questions early rather than guess
- Documentation is part of the job — every change should be trackable and reversible
Requirements:
- Must be available during standard US business hours (any US timezone or overlapping hours)
- Ability to respond to urgent issues when needed, including occasional off-hours situations
- Strong familiarity with WordPress admin and common plugin ecosystems
- Experience working in managed hosting environments (WP Engine or similar)
- Solid understanding of DNS (A records, CNAME, MX, TXT, propagation basics)
- Comfortable troubleshooting real-world issues (not just theoretical knowledge)
- Ability to follow SOPs and improve them over time
- Clear written communication in tickets and async updates
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Cloudflare (DNS, caching, basic rules)
- Experience supporting multiple client sites or agency environments
- Basic scripting or automation familiarity
- Exposure to SEO, performance, or accessibility fundamentals

- You like working through checklists and keeping systems organized
- You move quickly on well-defined tasks and know when to escalate
- You communicate clearly and don't leave people guessing on status
- You take ownership of operational work and care about doing it right
Screening Questions (Required):
1. Walk us through how you would safely update plugins on a live WordPress site with active traffic. What steps do you take to prevent issues and ensure rollback if needed?
2. A client reports that their contact form suddenly stopped sending emails. How would you troubleshoot this step-by-step?
3. Describe your experience with hosting platforms (WP Engine, Cloudways, etc.) and what types of tasks you typically perform there.

Future Opportunities:
We're looking for someone who can become a long-term operational partner across our client portfolio. Strong performance in this role can lead to consistent, ongoing work and deeper involvement with our systems.
Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.
