The style is premium, cinematic, BBC-inspired — not meme-style, not over-cluttered,
and not low-quality clickbait.
WHAT I NEED
For each video, I need 3 thumbnail variants for A/B testing on YouTube:
- Variant A: Reference-inspired baseline
(based on a proven thumbnail concept in the same topic)
- Variant B: Same core concept with one improvement
(e.g. clearer focal point, stronger contrast, better crop, text/no text variation)
- Variant C: Same topic, but a different hook angle
(alternative concept)
This is a repeatable system, not random thumbnail design.
CHANNEL / CONTENT STYLE
Ocean Obscura covers topics like:
- hadal trenches
- deep-sea creatures
- Atlantis / lost city mystery angles
- rogue waves
- ocean disappearance zones
- extreme pressure / ocean science
Visual style target:
- cinematic
- mysterious
- premium documentary feel
- clean composition
- strong depth and scale
- high readability at small size
DELIVERABLES (PER VIDEO)
Please deliver:
1) 3 thumbnail versions (A/B/C)
2) PNG exports (YouTube-ready, 1280x720)
3) Layered source file (PSD or equivalent)
4) Optional but preferred:
A very short note (1–2 lines) explaining the hook idea for each variant
WORKFLOW
I will provide:
- video title
- short video concept summary
- reference thumbnail(s)
- test type (subject / text / composition / tone)
- any required visual elements (if applicable)
You create:
- A = reference-inspired
- B = improved version
- C = alternate hook
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
- Strong YouTube thumbnail instincts
(especially documentary / mystery / science style)
- Ability to design clean, high-clarity thumbnails
- Good composition, contrast, and visual hierarchy
- Can work from references without just copying
- Reliable and fast communication
- Comfortable with ongoing work (2 videos/week target)
IMPORTANT STYLE NOTES
- No meme faces / exaggerated reaction style
- No cluttered collage look
- No misleading visuals that break trust
- Thumbnails should feel curiosity-driven and cinematic, not spammy
RIGHTS / USAGE
All work must be safe for commercial use on YouTube.
Please only use assets/fonts/textures that are licensed for commercial use (or fully original).

This is potentially a long-term role if the fit is strong.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months.
