  • Assist in developing, operating, monitoring and maintaining the TIGRESS digital data acquisition system

  • Supervise undergraduate or graduate students

Applicants must have extensive knowledge of contemporary nuclear structure, radiation detection and measurement, and operation of radiation detectors in general and semiconductor detectors in particular.

Demonstrated good oral and written communications skills, proficiency with scientific computing and data analysis using C++ and ROOT and basic knowledge of digital data acquisition are also required.

Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

The successful incumbents must have substantially completed their requirements for a Ph.D. degree (within 5 years) in nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry, or nuclear science, including a successful oral thesis defense with a grade of "passed with minor changes" or equivalent.

This grant funded position will be based at TRIUMF and the term of employment will be based on an initial commitment one year. This may renewed for up to three years, based on mutual satisfaction and continued grant funding.
