Job Title: Maintenance Support Technician (Summer Student Position)
Location: Primarily London, with occasional travel to Sarnia and Huron County
Schedule: Full-time (35+ hours/week), Monday to Friday, occasional afternoons/weekends
Start Date: May 19, 2026 – August 30, 2026
Hourly Pay Rate: $ $25.86 per hour
London Bridge Child Care Services Inc. is seeking a college-level co-op student (Canada Summer Jobs-funded) to support outdoor grounds projects and light facility tasks across our childcare locations. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, takes pride in visible improvements, and is comfortable working around children in an active childcare environment.

About the Role
Join our small, dynamic Facilities Team to maintain and enhance our buildings and properties.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you'll handle a variety of tasks, from responding to
maintenance requests via our internal ticketing system to completing minor repairs and
preventative maintenance. This role involves both indoor and outdoor work at multiple locations, lifting up to 50 lbs,
and occasional use of ladders.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete seasonal outdoor clean up and improvement projects across centres
- Landscaping and grounds support including but not limited to weeding, edging, mulching, soil moving, and general grounds maintenance
- Power wash, and maintain upkeep of playground equipment, pathways, and exterior surfaces
- Observe and report outdoor maintenance needs, including tripping hazards, damaged items etc
- Support small indoor projects including but not limited to installing equipment, hardware, or materials, and completion of minor repairs
- Assist with moving of equipment, and furniture as per centre requests
- Review and prioritize maintenance requests with the Facilities Manager
About You
You're a reliable, hands-on problem solver with a passion for maintaining environments and equipment. You thrive both independently and as part of a team and have strong time management, communication, and planning skills. You have strong problem solving skills and a want to learn more.
What You Bring
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and light construction
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs, and work on ladders
- Proficiency with computers and software for tracking tasks
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education, OR completing an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, OR holding a post-secondary diploma, preferred education in Facilities, Construction, Landscaping/Horticulture, or Environmental programs
- Recent Vulnerable Sectors Check (within 6 months)
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification
- A valid driver's license and daily access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
