Position Overview

The Underground Foreman at Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. is responsible for overseeing underground construction projects, including installation of utilities such as water, sewer, and storm drains. This position plays a key role in ensuring project schedules are met, safety standards are upheld, and that communication between team members and management is seamless. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in underground construction and proven leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of underground construction projects by managing laborers and equipment operators to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with management to report progress and any issues that arise during the project.
  • Monitor project schedules and work plans to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure quality and timely execution of tasks.
  • Provide training and guidance to crew members on best practices and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with other trades and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in underground construction or related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of underground utilities and related construction techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and procedures in construction.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work overtime and in various weather conditions as required.
