The Manager, Clinical Development supports the execution of clinical training programs, focusing on digital dentistry, patient education, dental hygiene optimization, and the integration of clear aligner therapy. Reporting to the Senior Director, Clinical Development, this role ensures clinical workflows and training initiatives are effectively implemented at the clinic level.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Training & Implementation
- Train dental professionals on the digital dental workflow, emphasizing patient experience and education.
- Guide teams on best practices for using digital scanning technology
- Support integration of clear aligner therapy and the benefits of a perio, ortho, restorative model of care
- Support dental hygiene teams in delivering consistent and optimal patient care
- Deliver and develop learns for clinical team members both virtual and in person<
- Create documents to support best practice integration at clinics
Operational & Workflow Support
- Collaborate with operations and clinic teams to improve communication and workflow efficiencies
- Implement systems to enhance treatment planning, case acceptance and patient experience
- Obtain buy in from leadership at the practice level including Office Managers and Doctors
Performance & Quality Assurance
- Monitor practice needs based on metrics
- Measure effectiveness of training initiatives
- Ensure clinics adhere to industry standards, professional regulations and best practices
Additional Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Senior Director, Clinical Development, to execute strategic training initiatives and support clinic growth
- Stay up to date on industry trends in digital dentistry, dental hygiene, orthodontics and patient care methodologies
- Work closely with operations teams and education teams to review clinic needs for training
Education, Credentials, Qualifications:
- Active Dental Hygiene License/Registration
- A minimum of ten (10) years in Dental Hygiene and five (5) years of mentoring other team members
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and collaborate with others
- Ability to influence and lead doctors and teams to take action
- Strong communicator with high comfort level in presenting in front of others
- Digital scanning experience, preferably with iTero
- Good knowledge of regulatory requirements for Dental Hygiene Teams in your province
- Excellent communicator with the ability to inspire change
- Must have computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Requires up to 80% travel (mostly day travel with some overnight obligations)
- Experience in orthodontics, particularly clear aligner therapy
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Active driver's license
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs at time
