Job Summary The Senior Accountant ensures accurate and timely financial reporting by managing key accounting processes, tax compliance, and supporting audits. This role plays a critical part in month-end and year-end closings, and maintaining compliance with internal and external requirements
Things you'll be working on: General Accounting · Prepare and update balance sheet reconciliations · Assist with month-end and year-end closings, including accruals, cut-offs, and variance analysis
Revenue Accounting · Perform service and license revenue cut-off procedures to ensure accurate revenue recognition · Review and post revenue-related entries in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Accounts Payable & Fixed Assets · Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets: acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliation · Conduct annual physical inventory of fixed assets and ensure alignment with accounting records
Accounts Receivable & Banking · Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash forecasting · Support intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Tax Compliance · Manage US Sales Tax and Canadian VAT processes, including preparation and submission of tax declarations · Coordinate with external CPA firms to ensure timely and accurate tax filings
Audit & External Reporting · Provide documentation and support for external audits and other third-party requests · Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance and timely reporting
Continuous Improvement · Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations · Participation and support in cross-functional projects
Do you have what it takes? · CPA designation or equivalent preferred · 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue recognition and tax compliance · Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations (Canada and US · Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills · Excellent analytical and organizational skills · Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to navigate cross-functional teams
