Position Overview:

We are seeking a driven and dedicated Junior Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. The Junior Accountant is responsible for performing a range of accounting and financial support functions to support day-to-day accounting operations. This position manages accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, prepares and reviews journal entries and accruals, and performs account analyses and reconciliations, while completing other related duties to support accurate and timely financial reporting.

This role is based onsite Monday to Friday at our Richmond, BC office. Candidates must be able to commute to our office or able to relocate in order to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and general ledger account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
  • Manage revenue, expenses, and accrual batches within Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, maintaining compliance and accuracy
  • Process intercompany transfers and reconcile related transactions
  • Perform accounts receivable duties, including preparing customer statements, invoice consolidation, and account reconciliations
  • Support collection activities for delinquent accounts, maintaining detailed communication records and assisting with timely payment resolution
  • Prepare weekly and monthly accounts receivable reports to monitor and provide insights into collections performance
  • Perform accounts payable functions, including vendor account management, payment processing, and statement reconciliations
  • Provide payroll processing support in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Deliver cross-departmental accounting support, including financial analysis, internal control activities, and process improvement initiatives

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience with exposure to core accounting functions
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; active enrollment in the Canadian CPA program required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a strong asset
  • Manufacturing industry experience is considered an asset
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP, PivotTables, advanced formulas)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience using CRM programs such as Salesforce is an asset
  • Experience managing accounts across multi-currency or international operations is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to manage priorities and work independently
  • Strong relationship-building ability, providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders 

Compensation: The salary range for this position is from $65,000 annually.
