À propos

*About Us*
Automation Solution Ltd designs and delivers high-performance, bespoke control and automation systems for process plants, primarily within the surface treatment industry.
We engineer and manufacture control panels, develop robust PLC programs, and create intuitive HMI interfaces — but what truly sets us apart is our proprietary software platform. Built over 30 years ago and continuously refined ever since, it represents decades of industry insight, innovation, and real-world process optimisation.
We don’t just build control systems — we build smart, reliable automation tailored to demanding industrial environments.
*About the Role*
We are seeking a versatile *Software & Automation Engineer* to support and develop the following core areas of our business:
*Primary Responsibilities*
* Bespoke software development (Delphi)
* PLC programming (primarily Allen Bradley and Siemens, with exposure to Mitsubishi and Schneider platforms)
* HMI design and development
Versatility is a fundamental ethos of our business. As such, the successful candidate will also be comfortable contributing to:
*Additional Responsibilities*
* Electrical wiring diagram preparation
* Instrumentation configuration and commissioning
* Setup and troubleshooting of industrial communication protocols
We are looking for an engineer who is adaptable, practical, and comfortable working across both software development and hands-on automation tasks.
*About You*
We are looking for a hands-on, technically strong individual who can balance engineering knowledge with performing under deadlines. We would consider applicants ranging from graduates or those with limited experience through to experienced engineers.
You are extremely methodical, organised, and versatile, and able to fit well within a small team. Your curiosity and initiative to resolve real industrial challenges will provide both personal reward and strong development opportunities.
*Desirable*
* Familiarity with multiple development environments/tools
* Experience with industrial PLCs and automation platforms
*What We Offer*
* A challenging and varied role in a fast-growing business
* Real responsibility, with mentoring and training provided
* Initially office-based in Cranleigh, with the role able to evolve into a hybrid arrangement over time
* A fun side-mission: the opportunity to help shape (and potentially project-manage) a full rebuild of our website. It’s… vintage. It reflects where we started, not who we are today — and we’d love someone to help us bring it up to the standard of the engineering we deliver.
