The Operations Supervisor oversees the business of the division. This includes, but is not limited to, the customer service, safety, operational efficiencies and overall personnel management within the division.

Key Responsibilities:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Undertake both industrial and marine surveys ensuring thorough and consistent compliance processes.
  • Coordinate, manage and be accountable for the completion of assigned projects within Corporate objectives (production, cost, quality, etc). 
  • Directly supervise individual projects as/when required.
  • Manage special projects or tasks as assigned or required.

GENERAL & ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Supervise field staff ensuring Corporate safety, quality and production parameters are met.
  • Provide continuous monitoring of and be accountable for ongoing training on production equipment, safety and loss control, and established Corporate policies and procedures as a competent person.
  • Coordinate and liaise with fellow management, supervisors, field staff, regulatory bodies and the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) to ensure compliance with applicable legislation. 
  • Understand and maintain compliance with applicable environmental regulations and Corporate licensing.
  • Monitor and enforce all Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assist with, prepare or coordinate daily work schedules, including logistical management of Corporate resources (manpower, equipment, rolling stock, etc). 
  • Provide input into Corporate production planning and short/long term business planning.
  • Coordinate and liaise with clients, subcontractors and team members to ensure objectives are met.
  • Monitor field staff performance, complete employment reviews, and participate in the disciplinary process within Corporate human resource guidelines.
  • Monitor and support positive employee relations.
  • Prepare and/or complete Corporate paperwork and reporting as required.
  • Participate in and conduct weekly field inspections, Job Task Observations and other Corporate safety programs, contributing to a positive safety culture.
  • Manage Corporate business after-hours via participation in the Company on-call system as scheduled/required.
  • Provide gas testing services (entry & hot work) internally & for clients upon satisfactory training and experience.
  • Assist in other corporate departments as required.
     

TECHNICAL

  • Manage and be responsible for all aspects of the Company maintenance department; including production, innovation, design, spending, employee supervision, record keeping, etc. 
  • Manage effective repair and routine/preventative maintenance programs for all corporate property & production equipment.
  • Manage corporate technical matters including building, grounds, production & equipment, innovation, business development, continuous improvement, research & development projects, etc. 
  • Liaise with other department heads on maintenance matters relating to Customer Service, Production, Process Control & Improvement, Service Development, Health & Safety, Environmental, Waste Management, Transportation, Dust Suppression, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Manager on technical matters related to the repair & maintenance of rolling stock (vehicles) 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Promote and generate sales in the Marine & Industrial markets.
  • Participate in and promote positive and effective customer and business relationship management.
  • Assist in identifying, developing or promoting existing or new business/services in existing or new markets as per Corporate Business Plan

Requirements:

  • G Class license
  • WHMIS training
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training
  • Reg 347 Training
  • Confined Space Entry / Rescue
  • Standard First Aid
  • Working At Heights
  • Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus qualification
  • Proficient with Google Workspace
