We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for our warehouse in Detroit, Michigan. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, managing stock levels, and investigating inventory variances. You will work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure that our inventory records are precise, supporting efficient operations and accurate order fulfillment. A strong understanding of inventory management systems and warehouse processes is essential. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to perform tasks that may involve moderate lifting (up to 25 lbs) and prolonged periods of standing or walking. You must be committed to upholding all company safety policies, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to ensure a secure working environment. Your expertise in inventory control is crucial for optimizing stock rotation, minimizing loss, and ensuring product availability within our logistics chain. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and report low stock or potential shortages.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize errors and losses.
- Process inventory adjustments and transfers.
- Collaborate with receiving, picking, and shipping departments to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, status, and trends.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, and walking.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving inventory issues.
