We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Omaha, Nebraska. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods using a forklift. This includes loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory within the warehouse, and ensuring materials are stored correctly. Your role is vital to maintaining the flow of our supply chain and supporting our overall logistics operations. You will be working in a dynamic environment where adherence to safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE, is paramount. The ability to operate various types of forklifts and perform regular equipment checks is essential. We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, reliable, and possess strong hand-eye coordination and physical stamina. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and handled to prevent damage.
- Follow all warehouse safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
- Identify and report any potential safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
- Adhere to all traffic and safety rules within the warehouse premises.
Qualifications:
- Previous professional experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including frequent lifting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety principles and forklift operation best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience in a logistics or distribution environment is highly desirable.
