We have an exciting opening for a Receiving Clerk at our facility in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately received, inspected, and processed into our inventory system. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for inbound shipments, ensuring everything aligns with purchase orders and quality standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail, organizational prowess, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient receiving dock. - Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label merchandise appropriately.
- Move and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal departments regarding shipment issues.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role.
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
- Strong organizational and data entry skills.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of warehouse safety best practices within a logistics environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to following safety regulations.
