Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in New York City, New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our warehouse facility. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment. You will work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and management to maintain a smooth and productive environment. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are paramount. This position involves a variety of tasks, including inspecting equipment before and after use, maintaining accurate inventory records, and performing general warehouse duties as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate various types of forklifts, including counterbalance and reach trucks, to move pallets, raw materials, and finished goods.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers with precision and care.
  • Stack and organize materials in designated warehouse areas, ensuring stability and accessibility.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance issues immediately.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in inventory counts and maintain accurate records of goods handled.
  • Assist with general warehouse housekeeping and organization.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Follow all procedures for material handling and storage to prevent damage and ensure product integrity.
  • Willingness to perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
  • Valid forklift operator certification.
  • Experience with different types of forklifts.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Must be comfortable working in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
  • Adherence to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
