We are recruiting a certified Forklift Operator for our expansive distribution center in Portland, Oregon. This role is central to maintaining the seamless flow of products within our facility. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to manage incoming and outgoing inventory, including loading and unloading trucks, and moving materials to appropriate storage locations. A strong emphasis on safety and adherence to operational guidelines is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment with precision and safety.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from staging areas, production lines, and storage locations.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and guidelines rigorously.
- Ensure the proper use of all required PPE is maintained.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and participating in stock takes.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of our overall logistics chain.
- Demonstrated ability in handling and moving significant weight through lifting operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current and valid forklift operator certification.
- Demonstrated experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Solid understanding of warehouse management systems and logistics .
- In-depth knowledge of forklift operation best practices and safety standards.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, balance, and situational awareness.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- A reliable and responsible work attitude.
