Our Seattle, Washington facility is seeking a motivated and skilled Material Handler to support our busy warehouse operations. The Material Handler plays a vital role in managing the flow of goods, ensuring efficient movement and storage of inventory. Responsibilities include operating material handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and upholding strict safety standards. The successful candidate will be physically capable, detail-oriented, and committed to contributing to a productive and secure work environment within our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and finished goods.
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to various locations within the warehouse, including staging, picking, and shipping areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and records, assisting with cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Load and unload trailers and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from potential hazards.
- Follow all established safety procedures and guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Report any damaged goods, equipment issues, or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Assist in the preparation of orders for shipment, ensuring all components are accounted for.
- Perform tasks requiring physical strength, including regular lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of our logistics and supply chain processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification is required, or must be obtainable upon hire.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various material handling equipment proficiently.
- Physical capacity to perform demanding tasks, including frequent lifting , bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE .
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is beneficial.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Understanding of basic logistics and inventory flow.
This role is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and inventory integrity. The ideal candidate will be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Adherence to safety protocols, including correct PPE usage and safe lifting practices, is non-negotiable.
