We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our bustling New York City, New York logistics hub. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including tracking stock levels, conducting cycle counts, resolving discrepancies, and implementing best practices to minimize loss. The ideal candidate will have a sharp analytical mind, exceptional organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. You will work closely with warehouse staff, management, and other departments to ensure precise inventory data is maintained in our Warehouse Management System (WMS). Your efforts directly impact our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. We are committed to a safe work environment, requiring strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role may involve some lifting. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile all inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the WMS.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure optimal inventory availability and prevent stockouts.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Track the movement of goods within the warehouse and ensure proper put-away.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with receiving and shipping teams to ensure accurate transaction processing.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for inventory accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Understanding of logistics principles and supply chain operations.
- Ability to perform some physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and adhering to PPE guidelines.
