Job Summary:
Our San Jose, California office is seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to manage outgoing shipments. In this critical role, you will be responsible for coordinating, preparing, and documenting all shipments to ensure they meet deadlines and quality standards. Your accuracy and organizational skills are vital to the smooth operation of our logistics department. You will work closely with carriers, warehouse staff, and customers to resolve any shipping-related issues. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, proper packaging, and labeling.
  • Enter shipping data into the company's logistics software system.
  • Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipping status and inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain organized shipping records and files.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE.
  • Assist with receiving duties as needed, supporting overall warehouse operations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in logistics or business preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk, Shipping and Receiving Associate, or in a related logistics role.
  • Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and the use of PPE in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
