Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Richmond, Virginia? We are hiring a skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods within our warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trailers, transporting materials to and from designated areas, and assisting with inventory management. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment are essential. You will be required to perform tasks that may involve some Lifting and will need to consistently wear the appropriate PPE , including safety shoes, vests, and hard hats, as specified by company policy. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely are crucial for success in this role. We value proactive individuals who can contribute to the smooth functioning of our Logistics operations and prioritize Safety above all else. Regular equipment checks and adherence to operational procedures will be a key part of your daily routine to ensure optimal performance and prevent accidents. Your role is critical in maintaining the flow of goods and supporting our overall supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move, stack, and retrieve inventory within the warehouse.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory verification.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Inspect equipment before and after use, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Follow all Safety regulations and protocols, including the use of PPE .
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of Logistics operations.
- Perform tasks that may require moderate Lifting .
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures and Logistics best practices.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting and material handling tasks.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE .
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing demands.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
