We are seeking a dedicated Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Tampa, Florida. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient reception of all incoming goods, ensuring they are properly documented and integrated into our inventory system. Your duties will include inspecting shipments for damage or discrepancies, matching them against purchase orders, and maintaining a clean and safe receiving area. This position requires a sharp eye for detail, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to upholding our high standards of operational excellence and safety. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the unloading of inbound freight.
- Accurately count and inspect received merchandise for damages or discrepancies.
- Process receiving documents and update the inventory system promptly.
- Ensure all items are properly tagged and identified.
- Stage goods for put-away into appropriate warehouse locations.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the receiving dock and surrounding areas.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams regarding receiving activities.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts as directed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse receiving role.
- Knowledge of inventory management software is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
- Ability to handle moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics procedures.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all established guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic warehouse environment.
