We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our busy warehouse in Chicago, Illinois. This position is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials to and from storage areas, and assist with inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, a valid forklift certification, and a strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures. This role is a key component of our Logistics operations, and we emphasize a commitment to Safety and the correct use of PPE. This position involves regular Lifting of materials. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport goods to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and put-away processes.
- Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.
- Support the Logistics team in achieving operational goals.
- Perform tasks involving moderate to heavy Lifting (up to 60 lbs) when not operating forklift.
- Follow all traffic and safety rules within the warehouse.
- Participate in ongoing Safety training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including Lifting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to Safety.
- Understanding of basic warehouse operations and Logistics.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with other warehouse equipment is a plus.
