We are looking for a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Madison, Wisconsin. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials within the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with order fulfillment. You must possess a valid forklift operator certification and a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures. Your primary focus will be on operating forklifts with precision, ensuring the integrity of the goods being moved, and maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This role requires the ability to operate various types of forklifts and material handling equipment. A keen eye for detail, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to follow instructions accurately are paramount. Adherence to all company policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices when necessary, is non-negotiable. We value individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and dedicated to maintaining operational efficiency in a dynamic logistics setting. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks with incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and utilize required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Participate in safety training and promote a safety-first culture.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations.
