We are looking for a dependable and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is integral to our warehouse operations, responsible for the movement, storage, and retrieval of materials and products. The Material Handler will operate various equipment, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure a safe and organized work environment. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding our high standards for safety and efficiency in our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials and products accurately.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper placement and securing of goods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, free from hazards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories as required.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Perform various tasks involving lifting and moving heavy items, utilizing safe techniques.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain functions of the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role preferred.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Familiarity with inventory control principles and WMS is a plus.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate PPE .
- Understanding of basic logistics workflow within a warehouse setting.
This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of materials within our facility. The ideal candidate will be reliable, possess excellent physical stamina, and be committed to maintaining a safe working environment. A strong work ethic and the ability to follow instructions precisely are essential. Regular use of provided PPE and adherence to all safe lifting practices are mandatory.
