Join our bustling warehouse in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as a Picker/Packer! This role is essential for fulfilling customer orders accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for picking items from warehouse shelves based on order lists, accurately counting and verifying items, and then carefully packing them for shipment. A keen eye for detail, speed, and accuracy are critical for success. You will operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment to retrieve items and move them to packing stations. Our commitment to a safe work environment means strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of items up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and reaching. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves according to order specifications.
- Verify picked items against order lists for accuracy and completeness.
- Pack items securely and efficiently for shipment, using appropriate materials.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment to retrieve and move products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Conduct quality checks on packed items before shipment.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and utilize required PPE.
- Contribute to overall warehouse and logistics efficiency.
- Perform tasks involving frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and proper PPE use.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
