Our busy distribution center in Grand Rapids, Michigan is looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. The Receiving Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring all incoming shipments are accurately documented, inspected, and processed efficiently. This position requires a sharp attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding our high standards for inventory management. You will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that everything matches purchase orders and is properly checked in. Your contribution is essential for maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and supporting our overall warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments for damage and discrepancies.
- Verify quantities and product details against purchase orders and invoices.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Label and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Identify and report any damaged or short-shipped items to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Follow all safety guidelines and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with inventory control and shipping departments to resolve any receiving-related issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to receiving and logistics.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with WMS software is a plus.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are critical.
- Understanding of basic inventory control principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
