Join our Grand Rapids, Michigan team as a Receiving Clerk! This role is the first point of contact for incoming goods and plays a vital part in our Logistics operations. You will be responsible for unloading deliveries, inspecting incoming shipments for damage and discrepancies, and accurately entering data into our inventory system. A meticulous approach and a commitment to Safety are essential for this position. Ensuring the integrity of our incoming inventory is key to our success.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks and trailers.
- Inspect all incoming shipments for damage, shortages, and correct items.
- Verify packing slips against received goods.
- Accurately enter received goods into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label items according to company procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Operate manual pallet jacks and other receiving equipment safely.
- Follow proper Lifting techniques to avoid injury.
- Communicate any receiving discrepancies or issues to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, and Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems.
- Understanding of basic Logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace Safety.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
