Status: Contract (1 year)

Location: Calgary, ALB

About the Role: 

Reporting to the Manager of, Local Sales Calgary and Lethbridge, Alberta, we are looking for a Retail Sales Manager, Local Sales in Calgary. The role will be located at our Corus Center office in Calgary and some travel will be required. This is a one year contract role.

You will contribute by:

  • Ability to understand and integrate strategy, client Insights and Research into the sales narrative to drive revenue
  • Lead Local Sales team selling TV, Radio, Digital and Production, in the Calgary market
  • Responsible for maximizing advertising revenue, while managing both key client accounts and senior relationships
  • Exceed Local sales budget/ forecasts and maintain Operational Expenses
  • Identify and monetize new revenue streams
  • Possess a deep understanding of the role that you play in guiding clients thru the "Path to Purchase"
  • Train, motivate and inspire Local sales teams to maximize job performance and engagement
  • Work with key stakeholders, News, Tempo, Digital and Production to develop and monetize program integration opportunities/extensions
  • A clear understanding of how your role fits into the broader Corus go-to-market strategies.
  • Prepare monthly business forecast plans and Summary sales reports;
  • Keep informed of trends in Media, Broadcast, Radio and Digital industries;
  • Develop and produce professional sales presentations and communications;
  • Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Minimum of five years' experience leading a Sales team with demonstrated sales results
  • Experience selling directly to clients in major markets or ad agencies required
  • A proven track record in sales/ high performer
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to maintain Professional approach at all times
  • Highly developed forecasting skills with strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of Media landscape and its speed of change, with focus on new business development, research and marketing knowledge encouraged
  • Ability to establish accountable, innovative and committed team environments
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Office
  • Working knowledge of S4M, Wideorbit, Radius and Salesforce
