Job Title: Maintenance Superintendent

Summary of Position: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the Maintenance Department.

Duties/ Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
1. Organizing, implementing and directing the activities of the Maintenance Department at the mine-site (including hiring, discipline and terminations);
2. Providing coverage of all maintenance management duties when the Maintenance Manager is unavailable
3. Developing the budget and forecasts for all Maintenance expense and Capital spending;
4. Managing an effective preventative maintenance program;
5. Assisting in or completing any maintenance planning needs as required
6. Ensuring all activities in the department are in compliance with environment and safety legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines and standard mine operating procedures;
7. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement in the department;
8. Establishing a positive working environment by conducting and participating in activities that contribute to an effective working relationship with all employees;
9. Promoting teamwork and employee development through effective communication and implementing and monitoring performance standards;
10. Assuming other duties and/or responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstances and the economic and physical environment of the Mine or Company.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will:
1. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills;
2. Have a minimum of 15 years of related mining experience in a managerial/supervisory role would be preferred;
3. Possess a Journeyman's Trade certificate or an Engineering degree;
4. Have knowledge of all mining equipment and installations as well as experience and knowledge of current safety procedures;
5. Possess an understanding of mine maintenance software tools;
6. Have the ability to learn quickly and maintain motivation even in the face of inevitable delays, setbacks, and policy, shift and schedule changes.
