ABOUT THE POSITION
The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for a variety of time-sensitive and confidential administrative tasks and processes while providing both project and day-to-day support for all functions within the HR department, with a focus on recruitment activities and HR administrative support.
Leveraging a sound ability to build relationships, the HR Administrator is responsible for assisting the general human resources needs of all SkilledTradesBC staff including but not limited to maintaining HRIS and auditing related systems to verify that appropriate processes are being followed. Additionally, the HR Administrator will be involved in committees, onboarding & offboarding processes, general HR communication, and serving as a learning administrator for in-house organizational training. The HR Administrator will work closely with the HR Advisor and support the HR Business Partner, HR Manager, and HR Director. 
This position does not have any direct reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
HR Operation and Administration: 
Coordinates and supports HR projects and administrative tasks assigned by the HR Director and/or HR Manager 
Provides HR updates to Payroll & Benefits Administrator as required (i.e. new starts, terminations, salary or benefit changes) 
Assists in the maintenance of SkilledTradesBC new hire orientation process and offboarding process 
Maintains and audits data in the HRIS and ensure accuracy of employee information 
Assists with employee record keeping, including digitizing physical records 
Researches and leverages best practices to further strengthen building inclusivity within the organizational culture, with a focus on DEI programs and initiatives. 
Works with HR team to generate HR reports 
Coordinates organization events, employee engagement activities, and distributes HR communications to relevant parties 
Be instrumental in driving various employee and HR led committees 
Provide innovative ideas to further strengthen the organizational culture 
Works with IT, Corporate Services, and other teams to implement best practices on cross-department projects and processes 
Coordinates and organizes SkillUp sessions and tracks participation in SkillUp sessions 
Supports and participates in HR projects focused on improving and streamlining departmental processes.  
Identifies opportunities for process improvement and contributes to initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
Manages and responds to inquiries in the HR inbox and works with the HR team to support items that require further attention 
Recruiting, Onboarding and Offboarding:   
Aids full-cycle recruitment for the organization, including processing job requisitions, developing job profiles, interview guides, and offer letters 
Creates and updates position descriptions and postings, posts internally and externally, screen CV's, conduct first level telephone screen and  
Organizes the interview process, including managing calendar appointments with the appropriate hiring managers and stakeholders 
Works with hiring managers and other relevant departments to coordinate onboarding and orientation of all new hires, including new hire notifications, maintaining orientation documentation and new hire paperwork, and support the onboarding program for the organization 
Manages all administrative tasks related to recruitment, offboarding and onboarding 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 
A post-secondary education in Human Resources Management is preferred; combination of education and work experience will be considered
A minimum of 2–4 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a professional services environment or public sector organization
Knowledge and understanding of human resources principles, concepts, methods and best practices
Working knowledge of BC Employment Standards and Human Rights Legislation, including workers compensation, health and safety, privacy
Experience in public sector and/or CPHR designation an asset
Proficiency in MS Office and experience with HRIS platforms; familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce is an asset

COMPENSATION
 Salary Band A: $49,066 - $66,384
