Primary Responsibilities
Provide excellent care of children, ensuring that a safe play area is maintained.
Set-up room with appropriate equipment for program.
Set up of coffee for parent & tot programs.
Provide monthly program plans, specific to the program, that encourage creative, social and gross motor skills development.
Provide snacks and refreshments to children ensuring a nut free environment is maintained while being familiar of all participants dietary restrictions
Attend monthly program meetings and give session feedback to Supervisor
Remove and report any damaged or unsafe toys, games and equipment to the Child Activities Supervisor
Ensure a clean, neat and sanitary environment.
Complete attendance record and inform the Child Activities Supervisor of any non-registered participants that need to be registered.
Handle general inquiries and program registration.
Provide daily updates to the Child Activities Supervisor
Participate in all staff meetings.
Complete a playground inspection as needed, prior to bring participants to the playground.
Establish positive relationships with parents
Develop and lead engaging art classes and workshops for diverse age groups and skill levels.
Design dynamic lesson plans and course curricula for a variety of artistic mediums.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students develop their creative skills and unique artistic voice.
Manage a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Organize and maintain art supplies, equipment, and the studio space.
Assist with program promotion and the showcasing of student work.
Other duties as assigned.
Other if Specified on Contract:
Tutoring assigned students in academic subjects and study skills, either individually or in study groups.
Creating, researching and obtaining curriculum and tutorial tools that suit the needs of the students
Maintaining records on each student who is being tutored
Writing and submitting evaluations and other reports as requested
Helping students develop self-confidence in performing academic work
Tutors will be able to tutor Reading, Writing, Math, English, and Learning Skills (including computer skills), etc., as required.
Required Qualifications
Minimum grade 12
ECA/ECE Certification or equivalency or working towards ECA/ECE Certification preferred
Experience working with children (infants, toddlers and preschool ages) essential.
First Aid and C.P.R. certification required.
Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
Flexible to work variable shifts; evenings, weekends and holidays
