About the Role

To support Canada Tire's continued growth, we are seeking a Financial Analyst who will deliver critical insights that drive effective decision-making across all departments. This position is designed for a finance professional with a strong data-driven mindset who thrives in a collaborative setting and enjoys working with cross-functional teams. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure the financial health and stability of Canada Tire. Your work will directly support our strategic growth initiatives and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Participate actively in the preparation of the monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE.

  • Accounting operations: Ensure proper maintenance of internal accounting systems and accuracy of accounting records, including cash, A/R, A/P, payroll, among others.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the budgeting process, create financial forecasts, and monitor performance against budget.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Responsible for the preparation of sale tax and environmental tax remittances, year-end payroll filings and other regulatory compliances

  • Audit Coordination: Actively manage and coordinate external audits

  • Process Improvement: Assist with the implementation and optimization of financial systems.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct various financial analysis to support decision making.

Qualifications & Skills

  • CPA designation required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance; relevant management experience is an asset.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (NetSuite is an asset).

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel

  • Strong understanding of ASPE, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership and effective teamwork.

  • High ethical standards and professionalism.

  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication in English and French.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, hybrid position. Occasional in office attendance is required for meetings or audit-related activities, typically a few times per month.
