Store Clerk-Full Time

Prairie Roots Co-op is hiring a Store Clerk at our location in Elm Creek, Manitoba on a full-time permanent basis.

What you'll do:

• Check in with all departments daily to see what tasks they are needing assistance with. 
• Assist with stocking inventory, merchandising, and displaying within all departments.
• Forklift operations, loading and unloading product.
• Obtain the knowledge to properly assist customers in purchasing decisions.
• Cross training in hardware, farm supply, grocery, cashier and pump attendant.
• Follow all legal requirements regarding the sale of liquor, lottery and tobacco products.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure department image and safety standards are followed. Ensure sanitation and cleanliness standards are to Co-op specifications, including cleaning of all equipment and display cases. 
• Be able to work in extreme temperatures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

You will work closely with the customers and Elm Creek location team, reporting directly into the Grocery Manager and Farm Supply Supervisor. This team strives to cultivate a culture of customer focus and community.

Who you are: 

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

• Are 18 years of age or older and have the Smart Choices certification or are willing to obtain it. 
• Understanding of our Values (Integrity, Community and Excellence) 
• Ability to work independently, as well as contribute to the team.
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills.
• Work flexible shifts including weekends.
• Can lift and carry inventory and equipment up to a weight of 55lbs.
• Class 5 driver license.
• Forklift training. (Provided)
• Propane training. (Provided)
