Your Tasks:

General
Responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Participate in regular housekeeping activities to ensure a tidy and efficient workspace.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste materials by transporting them to designated waste disposal sites.

Quality:

  • Ensure consistent and reliable processes by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control guidelines.
  • Report any quality issues or defects to the supervisor immediately.
  • Record (foresight, SAP, traveler) production activities (std. and actual hrs., production#, unit# etc.) accurately as per company's requirements

Maintenance:

  • Perform routine and preventive upkeep (including cleaning) and inspections of dept. equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or needed repairs to the leadhand or supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure proper tools management (storage, maintenance, etc.). Maintain an accurate inventory of tools.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all process and building equipment are in proper working order
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery
  • Evaluate and inspect new equipment
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedure
  • Dismantle and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery
  • Provide leadership for new hires, apprentices and ensure successful task completion
  • Communicate status of machinery with internal departments
  • Maintain documentation of work orders
  • Report via MVP CMMS software all workorder steps and findings
  • Develop and participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Support outside contractors and coordinate activities with production
  • Assess, plan and design maintenance procedures with other departments to eliminate production and quality issues
  • Use measuring equipment, hand tools, air tools and power tools.
  • Other dues as assigned by the Supervisor or designate

Requirements:
  • A or 309A Electrician License
  • Skilled Trades Ontario Ticket
  • Ability to detect, isolate and identify irregularities and malfunctions in process equipment
  • Ability to fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during machine setup, maintenance or refurbishment
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals and specifications
  • Experience in supervising and monitoring apprentices
  • An outstanding safety and quality conscious approach while performing work duties.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Proficient in English with demonstrated fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Excellent communication skills to follow verbal and written instructions

Hourly rate: $ $43.26 per hour
